A Great Bargain- as far as I know
Now before any electronics enthusiasts jump in with "you could have gotten a better deal here with this thing and that thing and blah blah blah" I don't care. I bought this TV and I am extremely happy with it. On with the review.
First: SLIMFIT says it all. The dimensions make it practical and sleek-looking. If you're like me with a DVD player a PS3 a VCR and a cable box to plug in you know how much of a pain it can be to get around a big bulky OLD CRT TV to get the cables from point A to B (and C and D and E etc.). With this TV's slim design it is 1. lighter and therefor easier to move around if needed and 2. slimmer so that depending upon the space you're working with you can just walk right around it like I can.
Second: HDTV + CRT. Thank god. If you've gone into any Best Buy or other major electronics store you have undoubtedly seen the massive walls of plasma/LCD televisions playing insanely high-res videos. Don't be fooled. These are High Definition feeds NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF YOUR BASIC CABLE CHANNELS. Make sure you ask to see what a non-HD channel looks like one them because - believe me - it is NO GOOD. The majority of regular cable (Comcast for example) providers do not have many HD channels UNLESS you are buying a premium package. Even then the channels you already have are not improved to HD standards; you're just getting new channels (mostly sports-related channels) which are HD quality. With this TV you get the benefits of HD capabilities AND the benefit of seeing regular (non-HD) cable channels as you already do if not slightly better.
Third: PRICE. When I bought this TV I paid roughly 600 for it from Amazon. For 400 it is now an absolute steal. Especially compared to the price tags you see on other LCD/Plasma TVs- $1000+? Forget about it.
I think that's about all I have to offer here. As for negatives? I haven't found any. I mean I really haven't. Again I'm no up-to-the-minute electronics enthusiast. I'm just a regular guy who likes to watch a little TV a few blu-ray or DVDs now and then and play my PS3.
Keep this TV in mind.More detail ...
